Shrek 3 GBA..Need help, I am stuck

Im on the second scroll (far away from home) and im up to the part where i can only use Arthur and i have no idea how to get out of this hole or how to get the other fairies. I have 2 but i cant get the other ones. There is a chest that moves up and down that I believe has something to do with being able to advance, but have no idea. Can someone please help me...FAST

Go back, jump over the first obstacle upon a large rock.
Then press A + arrow down.
Arthur falls through the rock and can move on.
